Who are we?

Hello, I’m Shenay! I’m 27 and I’m an Early Childhood Teacher and registered Primary School Teacher with a passion for messy, nature-based sensory play. I was born in the Northern Rivers and have spent a majority of my time in Brunswick heads and Byron Bay, but have recently moved to Goonellabah and am familiarising myself with the local community.

I currently work in preschool, where I have developed a strong passion for creating open-ended invitations and provocations that encourage children to explore, experiment, get curious and follow their own ideas.

I created Messy Kids Club as a way to share this passion with families in the Northern Rivers community. Right now, I’m focusing on building our little community before bringing Messy Kids Club to life through pop-up play sessions and birthday parties across the Northern Rivers, with the hope of growing into regular monthly sessions.

Messy Kids Club will be a space where little ones can explore, get creative and get wonderfully messy, while mums and carers can connect with one another — and I’ll take care of the clean-up!

I can’t wait to create beautiful, messy and nature-inspired experiences where little hands can explore, imaginations can grow and children can simply enjoy being children.
